Motivation is the driving force that propels people toward their goals, shapes their ambitions, and fuels their perseverance in the face of challenges.  Motivation is the key ingredient that keeps you moving forward.

On May 19 ,2025 the Directorate of Student Governance and Leadership Development of Soshanguve campus hosted an incredible, eye opener, and expert advice series called “Motivational series “at Tshwane University of Technology, Soshanguve campus student centre.

Students came in numbers to the event because they wanted to hear the words of wisdom from the legend Muzi Mthabele who was a Motivational speaker but not only that, but to also listen to the angelic voice of Dr Tumi who was invited as a guest speaker.

“My highlight of the event was when Dr Tumi was performing, his song revived my spirit making me open my eyes and apply what Menzi was saying “Nele Mama, a student at Tshwane University of Technology.

What Muzi shared with the students was valuable life lessons, inspiring stories and words of encouragement, but he did not want the students to only hear what he said, he wanted them to implement the words in action.

He shared three things that were important for them to be able to face the challenges or encourage them to be the better version of their selves. Which number one was nobody owes you anything in life so you must work for everything that you wish to have and not wait for your parents to do it for you.

Secondly, nobody has to love you, love yourself enough for everybody else. And the last one is nobody has to help you, he even made an example that when you work hard even the people who were supposed to help you but did not, they will come back and say “we know this person since they were young” because now you are something they will recognise you.

“Work hard so that you won’t have to introduce yourself “said Muzi Mthabele.

He promised the student that he was going to come back because he loved their engagement and hoping that they listened to his words of motivation.
